About the role

Guy Salmon Land Rover Northampton has an excellent opportunity for a Quality Controller to join their team. 
The Quality Controller will have responsibility for the quality that a team of Technicians produce in order to maintain high levels of Right First Time scores, which is in line with our ambition to provide outstanding customer service to our customers.

You will have the passion to meet manufacturer standards, by providing thorough quality checks for a percentage of all workshop throughputs and recording it accurately. Both by physically checking mechanical and diagnostic work completed on vehicles and the supporting documentation.

Identify trends and coaching technicians to ensure quality is improved in the future, in either quality of work carried out or ensuring workshop manuals followed correctly, right through to write ups to maximise every opportunity.

The role will include measuring quality in various aspects, to ensure compliance throughout the department, maintaining tools and carrying out tool audits to confirm hand tools and specialist tools are available and in good condition.

As such, this role requires an outstanding individual whose enthusiastic, positive approach will encourage exceptional levels of work and efficiency from the workshop with the support from our experienced service team. Encouraging development through the completion of JLR’s Excellence Training both online and in the classroom. 
About You

We are seeking a technically knowledgeable individual with an uncompromised understanding of the running of a very busy workshop and as such, previous experience in a similar or technical role is essential. 

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills and will thrive under pressure whilst delivering unprecedented levels of customer service to both external and internal customers.  You will have excellence organisational and preparation skills coupled with a genuine passion for detail. Someone who will use their own initiative where they think they can provide optimum outcomes to deliver efficient turnarounds for our customers.

Previous experience within the JLR brand would be desirable but not essential.
