Who are Sytner?

Our company began its life within the motor industry over 40 years ago as a small family business and is now proud to represent the world’s most desirable car manufacturers in state-of-the-art dealerships across the UK. Working for Sytner Group gives you the opportunity to work with some of the most prestigious brands in the world.

We are also immensely proud of our racing heritage, with our founder Frank Sytner having had a successful racing career and our CEO, Roger Penske, being the founder of Penske Racing, the most famous race team on a world wide basis, featuring in the NASCAR and Indy Racing series as well as Formula 1 in the 1970’s.

These aren’t the only reasons why so many people choose to work with us. We are immensely proud to have recently achieved ‘Best Retail Group (more than 10 sites)’ in the AM Awards 2018, together with an accolade of Highly Commended within the ‘Best Training and Development Programme’ category.

We also facilitate our own annual confidential colleague survey, so we can ensure that any ideas for improvement our team members have are acted upon quickly and thoroughly.

Our aim is to be the leading retailer of prestige cars in the UK, but we are proud to still retain a strong family feel throughout our entire business. We ensure that the Management teams in our dealerships have autonomy over their individual businesses, creating an entrepreneurial feel. However, we still provide full support of our own specialist Finance, Human Resources, IT, Marketing and Property teams and also our unique Learning & Development Centre.

Why Choose Sytner Group?

We have a strong ‘One Team’ ethos within our business. With this in mind, we encourage all our managers to have an open door policy so they are ready to listen and welcome all contributions and suggestions from our team members.

This ‘One Team’ culture goes beyond getting the day to day job done; it means that we also fully encourage our businesses to have fun! This can mean anything from our charity fundraising commitments, to helping out in our local communities or even just having fun within our teams.

Our dealerships have been known to get up to a variety of antics such as summer BBQ’s cooked by the Directors, fancy dress days and even baked bean tasting! It’s all part of creating a fun atmosphere and making Sytner a great place to work.

Not only are our businesses enjoyable places to work, we are also proud of achieving a very low turnover of staff, creating a stable workforce. This means that not only will you develop good working relationships with your colleagues; many of our team members tell us that they develop long lasting friendships during their career with Sytner.

We also understand that your time away from the work place is vitally important, so we give our team members a generous holiday allowance and more importantly, are in full support of ensuring our team achieve the right ‘Work-Life’ balance.

Induction is taken very seriously too, with a variety of events both at our Head Office and within Dealerships. When it comes to training events, every year Sytner and our Vehicle Manufacturing partners offer thousands of days worth of training to team members across the Group.

How do we offer such comprehensive training opportunities? Through our very own dedicated Sytner Learning & Development Centre. This team design, source and co-ordinate a full portfolio of Training events for Sytner team members. Recently, more and more emphasis has been placed on designing and delivering our own top class industry training. These courses focus on the Sytner culture, our commitment to being Famous with our Customers and enriching both the professional and personal development of our team.

We believe a vital component to our overall success as a Group, is to be simply the best place to work and for team members to want to stay with us. We put a strong emphasis on promoting from within, so our team members can 'grow' within our company.

Supporting our local communities

We are also proud to continue our support for various charitable causes as giving back to our communities is a priority for us.

In 2021 we supported automotive charity, Ben, by responding to its rallying cry for help by donating £100,000 to carry on the invaluable work it does to help people working in the industry.
