"Working in Sales brings fantastic rewards, not only financially, but also it is incredibly motivational the feeling you get knowing that you have made a significant contribution to the overall success of the business. After all, many of the customers we interact with not only purchase cars from us, but often then utilise our Aftersales facilities for servicing and parts.
We also have great support from other departments, particularly Sales Administration who we work very closely with. They are often described as the ‘back-bone’ of the Sales department, ensuring that all of our administrative processes are fully integrated, to ensure we deliver an exceptional service to our customers. With this in mind, it is really important that we have a ‘one team’ culture and excellent communication links not only with Administration, but with all departments in the dealership, as our customers will ultimately come into contact with many team members; from Reception, to Service, Parts and our Accounts teams. This does mean however, that we all have to make the tea and collect the sandwiches!
Working in Sales can be challenging but is nearly always exciting! We have some great brands to work with and our manufacturing partners offer great support in terms of incentives and marketing promotions. You may also be lucky enough to experience exclusive events with our manufacturers, within the UK or abroad, particularly when we are launching a new model. But ultimately, even though the day to day running of Sales can be busy, you have some fantastic premises and facilities to work within.
Another benefit of working in Sales is that it provides a firm foundation for excellent future prospects within the company; many of our Heads of Business started their careers within the Sales team!"
