When did you start working at Sytner Group?

I started my time here at Guy Salmon Wakefield 11/02/2002

If someone wanted to become a Workshop Manager, what key skills and attitude would they need?

To have a cool head and plenty of patience.

What is your favourite part of your job?

When we are busy there is a buzz around and pushing productivity

Three words that sum up the people in your team?

Committed, fun and professional.

What does your place of work do to help its colleagues maintain work-life balance?

I’ll not lie but work life balance at a busy retailer don’t really go together

How do you know you are making a difference?

I am told this and can see changes happening.

Can you tell me about the culture in your workplace?

How have you developed since working for Sytner?

I started as a Technician, progressing in to Master Technician role, then into Workshop Control and finally into Workshop Management

What’s been one of your proudest moments working at Sytner?

I always strive to make things special and go the extra mile. I was awarded this year and asked to go down to London to collect the award.

What advice would you give to recent new hires?

Be proactive and help all staff and customers.

If you could go back and give yourself some career advice when you were 15 years old, what would it be?

Not that I haven’t enjoyed my time here, but If I could go back that far I would have probably joined the Police.
